slusher Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 l cleared a flat white interior with testors semi gloss/satin a couple of weeks ago and noticed that it was still just a little sticky or tacky only on the front buckets. Never had that happen. It was rattle can. Any ldeas why??? Slusher
Fat Brian Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 What kind of flat white was it? It sounds paint incompatibility.
Guest Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 What kind of paint did you use for the flat white Carl? That may be the problem. When you want to add a slight sheen to flat paint, just brush on a really thin coat of future. It works great for me and saves masking on tub style interiors.
High octane Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 l used some testors clear coat to clear a flat white interior. l used lacquer semigloss /satin and after 2 weeks it still felt tacky. any ldeas what went wrong??? Slusher Carl, I would have painted my interior with Testors Classic White (gloss) and the sprayed some Testors Dull-Cote over it.
TooOld Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I'm not sure the type of flat white paint would cause a problem . The Testors clear lacquers aren't hot enough to react with other types of paint . Possibly it's the way you applied it , maybe too heavy a coat ? Also it could be the weather conditions when you sprayed . Very high humidity can cause a lot of weird things to happen ! As a last resort , strip the paint and repaint it the way High Octane suggested . Good Luck !
slusher Posted July 4, 2012 Author Posted July 4, 2012 Thanxs guys, l used testor flat white and testors simi gloss clear. l sprayed it in the house due to the humitity. maybe it was to heavy of a coat...Slusher
