I received the lastest issue of Hot Rod today. As promised, they overhauled the entire format & look. Me personally, I like it. The photography of the feature cars is really nicely done ....

Any one else?

I gave it a quick look and they still do not understand that you do not put a picture that goes across the binder in the mag . It looks bad when they do that and ruins the picture . other than that I will have to read the mag this weekend.

After over 40 years, I let both Hot Rod and Car Craft go, they were no longer relavent to me, those poor kids don't know the difference between a 68 and 69 Roadrunner, and think that fuel injection is "Cool" for 60's /70's musclecars. They just haven't been the same to me for several years, so I cut them loose. I get Musclecar Review and Hemmings Muscle Machine. And IF you cut them loose,(HR/CC) they WILL send you coupons for as cheap as 7 bucks a YEAR, for two years! Still not worth it to me, but you young guys might take 'em up on it. Just let your sub run out, they'll BEG you to come back!!!! They'll send ya hats an clocks an all kindsa junk!  ;)

I have been reading Hot Rod Magazine off and on since I was eight years old (mostly looking at the pictures  ) I am now 62. Every time I think I will just give it up they convince me to renew with a cheap rate ( under one dollar an issue) and a free hat or clock or something else. Sometimes they have old pictures from the early days of hot rodding which I prefer. A wealth of advertiseing is what keeps them going. I always hate it when they go to the book binder like the current issue, I prefer the staples where you can remove the centerfold and hang it on the wall. Still, lots of good reference material included. I like the Indy speedsteer and Attention Whores (the cars) in the current issue. Freiburger is a very likeable guy with a lot of knowledge for a youg guy. I will probably renew, it's still a great value.

I like the new format. It's a more mature vibe, kind of like Muscle Machines meets Autoweek. Hot Rod & Car Craft is too much Boobies & Beer (not that there's anything wrong with that....) but not in a car magazine. I like the change.

And yes, the Talladega is awesome!
