Scuderia Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I didn't see anything in the search as far as this goes, but have any of you used a Revell or AMT Torino Talladega to make one of these. I saw in a google search a guy offering a transkit of sorts but I'm curious how close the Talladega kits are body-wise to the Merc...
TooOld Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Time Machine Resins makes a really nice kit that uses the Revell Talladega kit as a donor . It saves alot of work and is worth the $45 selling price .
Scuderia Posted July 11, 2012 Author Posted July 11, 2012 Yeah I saw that last nite in my searching jsut curious if the Kit body was close enough not to need to get the kit. Price is right tho so i'll prolly just order it from the sounds of it.
TooOld Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I'm not positive , but besides the taillight panel and lens , the wheel arches are completely different and so is the hood . It's not out of the question to modify the Talladega , more a matter of what you are comfortable doing . Personally , getting the taillights and the decals would seal the deal for me !

Yes, the Cyclone has different quarter panels, front fenders and hood. I'd love to see Revell tool up a stock '68-69 Cyclone GT..one of the gaps in musclecar kits for 40+ years.
espo Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 If you can find one , Polar Lights used to offer a Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II as a NASCAR only kit. The two kits I have are for Leeroy Yarbrough's #98 and Cale Yarborough's #21 Wood Brothers car. You would still have to convert to a "stock" car if you were wanting a street model. Would like to see this done.
