My Foray Into Blogging

Well, I've thought about this for awhile, and I've decided to take the plunge. I've started a blog! Actually this was recommended to me by a relative of mine since they've seen the kind of work I do, and also they know that I can be handy with the printed word when I want to be.

So-------I've taken the first step, and made my first post. Now this doesn't mean I won't be posting projects here...........it may mean I won't detail every step as I'll be doing that on my blog. As time allows, I'll update it from time to time, and there will be some video that will go along with some steps of how I do things. Don't expect super-duper high studio quality from the videos.........I'm still a bit of an amateur when it comes to things like that.

One tip: Check your audio. Your video's sound is very "dirty" and hissy.

Yeah you're right Harry.........that's the line in mike on my laptop that's giving me trouble and I'm not sure why. I do have another video cam that I have to use for close-up video shots that I'm about to post and the audio is clearer on that. May be time for a new driver or something for the microphone sound card or something. I also have a video recorder called a "Vado" which I may try to use as well.

Looks like there's a lot to pick up on as time goes on!

Maybe Bill can enable people to subscribe to the blog and receive emails whenever there is new content. I'm not sure if the blog template Bill is using allows subscribing, though.

Yes, I do get an email whenever someone makes a comment on the blog. The template that Gmail uses though doesn't allow for subscribing, I would just check in from time to time to see what's new. I may also post what I'm building here, but in a much more abbreviated form.

It's a lot of work to format and upload everything to boot, and that time could be used for building. Usually Sundays are the best day for me as there's not a whole lot going on with me then...........more than likely early in the morning if I'm up to it.

You can subscribe to My YouTube channel as whenever I get a chance to do a video, it'll be there if it's on my blog. My handle there is MrObsessive, the same as it is here.

Also, when I get a bit more sophisticated, I may move the whole blogging site to my own web page and away from the clutches of Google, YouTube, Etc..........

That will take some time though as this is just a chance to get my "feet wet" so to speak.
