MachinistMark Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 anyone bought/seen in side one? says on the box it includes photo etch and ignition wire. newish tool? old tool with some new doodads?
Fat Brian Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 If it has ignition wire and photoetch it's most likely a reissue of their 57 from the late ninties. It was the first of their new style kits with seperate frame and floor pan and such. It's a good build but I seem to remember some slight controversy over the shape of the body. It looks great to me.
Casey Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) It is a reissue of AMT's "Pro Shop" '57. No idea if the wiring and p/e parts were included with the Pro Shop release or not, though. Edited November 9, 2018 by Casey
62rebel Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 i was hoping they'd get around to reissuing that version. i thought the tincan was the old PepperShaker kit. glad i'm wrong, because no way would i pay that much for the current de-contented version they've been selling.
Casey Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Any pics of the pro modeler kit? The Pro Shop AMT kit?
57peppershaker Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Its the pro shop kit & parts, in a new tin. Nice kit but dont pay daft prices unless your a collector. Shame they didnt put the pepper shaker kit in a tin . . . . .
MachinistMark Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 No one has any pics of the pro shop kits parts?
Casey Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 (edited) These are the various issues of the same modern era (read: created from new tooling in the '90s) AMT '57 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop, easily discerned from the '60s era AMT '57 Bel Air Hardtop kit by the presence of an open trunk area and separate trunk lid. Note the real car shown on the below box top is a Sedan, but the kit inside is the correct Hardtop: This is the most recent (2017) reissue, molded in red with another identical version molded in white plastic: Street Machine version featuring a 'back-halfed' frame, mini-tubbed floorpan, Corvette wheels and tires, and other non-stock parts: Edited November 10, 2018 by Casey

Deuces Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 Love that batwing air cleaner for the 270 hp version..... I have a few of the newer tooled kits....
Dave Darby Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 I think the only thing this kit needs is better rolling stock. Somebody posted this one on the Spotlight Hobbies message board.
