ford514 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 (edited) i finally picked up the 1/12 Shelby. i was just going do the Shelby as a Shelby but figured theres already to many on here and i like being different so i'm making a mild custom 5.0 Mustang. the rims are from the 1/8 t-bucket and they fit perfect in the Shelby tires and look awesome on the car. i just need to figure out how to do the mount backings. then i deleted the snake in the grill and found some light buckets the fit in the grill prefect then made the pony emblem for the grill and also made the rear gas cap emblem had to shave the diff housing to lower it to where i want it. then worked on the rear spoiler, just didnt look like it fit that great on the sides so i cut it down the middle and will be filling the gap to make it fit like it should Edited July 18, 2012 by ford514
ford514 Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 i'm using the 5.4 but i'm making new valve covers, new intake and intake tube and intake cover. it will look "like" the new coyote 5.0 mill. heres the start to the engine cover. had to cut the TB out off the Shelby system and will make it fit the new intake. and while the glue for the cover was drying i made a new shock tower brace that i still need to finish
cobraman Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Nice work so far. I wish I would have sourced some wheels when I did my build.
ford514 Posted July 21, 2012 Author Posted July 21, 2012 thanks for the comment. i've had to do some cutting to make the wheel work with out sticking to far out of the fenders. i've done more work on it. got the engine pieces done so now it is a 5.0 coyote in it. and then once i finished that i got working on the trunk. i've opened it up and started the seal and trunk area. it will have a small sound system in it. i wanted to add a little more detail to the trunk it self so i tried replicating the black out panels you can get. here it is
ford514 Posted July 21, 2012 Author Posted July 21, 2012 as i'm working on other stuff i'm trying to think of how to paint this. i know i want blue and a dark sliver but cant decide how to do it. heres what i'm thinking

Kaleb Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I'm interested in the trunk opening, I just cut the trunk today and wondered if I got in too deep. Will you be posting progress on the trunk?
ford514 Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 ive been working on this slowly off and on as im doing smaller projects. i been trying to decide on some kind of body kit for this. so ive cut the front bumper off and lowered it down, then added a rear air diffuser, and working on side skirts. but may have to some how lower the ride height more. the bumpers and side skirts are looking to tall now. ill post more pictures once i finally get a chance.
