If this belongs in Q & A feel free to move it. Does anyone know of a source for aftermarket outside rearview mirrors? Harry is right, a street car just doesn't look right without them. Many of the newer tools include them but a lot of the older kits don't. I do a lot of OOB stock cars and a lot of them don't have mirrors. Wondering if anyone has found a source, mostly '50-70s?

Bear in mind that before say, the very late 1960's. outside rearview mirrors were very scarce, very uncommon. I know it's hard to understand todayk, fully 40+ years later, but rear view mirrors beyond those on the inside of cars were not seen as vitally important--and model car kits being a reflection of real life, represent that.

I go along with Art. I came of car-age in the 60's and remember the rarity of mirrors. Getting outside mirrors on BOTH sides was expensive! I had to look back at pics of my first car .. a '51 Plymouth ... fully stock with at least driver side mirror .. had no photo showing the right side.

Interesting. My first car was a '66 Corvair, and I can't recall any of them through the years not having at least a driver's side mirror. When I see older ones at car shows it must be the owners have added them?

My 63 Chrysler when I bought it someone had added two FoMoCo side view mirrors. I don't know why someone would add ford parts to a chrysler? Us MOPAR guys know that is a sin not that there is anything wrong with ford I just don't care for them

The Modelhaus makes some nice resin, chromed, outside mirrors. They have square ones (50's style) and round ones (60's style).

Thanks Richard, I'll check them out.
