Exotics_Builder Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 The event was held at Pheasant Run resort in Saint Charles Illinois. Although all Pontiac (or a few Oaklands), there were some interesting cars. Here are some pix to whet the appetite. And the link to the album is below. http://s150.photobucket.com/albums/s110/exotics_builder/2012%20POCI%20Convention/
High octane Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 Thanks for the photos Gerry as that was and EXCELLENTshow with Pontiacs from all over the country and Canada too. It was amazing that there are so many georgous Pontiacs out there. They also had Arnnie "the farmer" Beswick and Jim Wangers there also, two of Pontiac's living legends.
The70judgeman Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Wish I would have known about this. It's only a couple of hours away. Would have enjoyed that one for sure. Thanks for sharing your pics.
High octane Posted July 28, 2012 Posted July 28, 2012 Andy, you DID know about it as I posted it under the Contest and Shows section on June 21st and also on July 13th, check it out. We did have a guy from Wisconsin enter the model contest also.
blunc Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 There was a rumor that GM brass killed the Pontiac Banshee (sitting next to the Bonneville in the first photo) because it would rob Vette sales...I agree, I think the USA might have had two American sportscars instead of just Vette's
The70judgeman Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Andy, you DID know about it as I posted it under the Contest and Shows section on June 21st and also on July 13th, check it out. We did have a guy from Wisconsin enter the model contest also. Totally slipped my mind I guess. Man...I must be getting old then!
High octane Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Totally slipped my mind I guess. Man...I must be getting old then! Don't feel bad as we're ALL getting old. LOL!
The70judgeman Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Don't feel bad as we're ALL getting old. LOL! I'll have to look out for it next year. Hopefully Jim Wangers and Arnie Beswick will be there again. I've met Arnie a couple of times...really nice guy, and I'd like to get Jim's autograph in a GTO book I have.
High octane Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Andy, seeing as how this year's show was a "nationnal" event is the reason both Jim Wangers and "the farmer" where there. Next years show will be back to the Cruzin' Tigers Car Club "indian Uprising" meet and may be iffy if either of them show up, although it could happen. If you want Jim to autograph your book badly enough you could always ship it to him and pay for the return shipping also. Otherwise you'll have to depend on "luck" as to whether you see him again or not.
