Scottnkat Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I had built this a while back, but never had posted it. The kit was incomplete so I had to improvise on some of it. Paint is black enamel and Max Factor Raisin Perle nailpolish:
rmvw guy Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I've always loved the old AMT '32s. Nice job on a stock build. What color is that, I like it?
Scottnkat Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 The black is Krylon gloss black enamel. The reddish brown color is Max Factor Raisin Perle nailpolish
rmvw guy Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Nice! How do you apply nail polish? I've never tried it, do you thin it down and apply it with an airbrush or brush it on or what? I've always wondered.
cobraman Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Looks good. It is nice to see kits built up stock once in a while.
Scottnkat Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 I thinned the nailpolish with 2 parts nailpolish to 1 part lacquer. Then I just sprayed it through the airbrush. Thanks guys!
Monty Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 I thinned the nailpolish with 2 parts nailpolish to 1 part lacquer. Then I just sprayed it through the airbrush. Thanks guys! You're one of a small group of modelers who've discovered the wide range of colors available in nail polishes. Unlike hobby or touch-up paints, you can find interesting nail polish colors virtually everywhere. I like the color combination you came up with, but I'm curious what prompted the folks at Max Factor to call it "Raisin Perle".

Thanks guys! ......Thank you, I've went as far as purchasing nail polish in the past but, didn't know what to do with it. I assume any lacquer thinner will work, I will give it a try!
