Nick Winter Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I have these 2 Built up's that I am starting to restore, one is a Mercury Capri II, it says Ghia and 2.8 on it, it also had a '76 Michigan plate on it, the other is this Mustang II with separate hatch and bumper chrome, also has 3 piece rear seat and seperate center console. Nick Thanks Guys.
iBorg Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Yep..... The MPC Mustang didn't have that hood scoop or the removable tailgate.
Nick Winter Posted July 30, 2012 Author Posted July 30, 2012 Thank you Guys, the Capri is currently on my bench being restored to a better condition than it was when I got it, but the same idea the original builder had. Nick
Rob Hall Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Looks like someone hacked out the wheelwells on the Capri. I have the Monogram Capri of that era, never had one of the AMT ones. I have the AMT '75 Mustang II and the reissued '77/78 from a few years ago...
Nick Winter Posted July 30, 2012 Author Posted July 30, 2012 Yes they did, had sort of a Trans Am race car style to it. Nick

SSNJim Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Cool..IIRC, there was also a cafe racer style version of this kit w/ fender flares... The last AMT Capri II I saw was many years ago (when it was a new release), but I thought you had to cut the wheel wells like that to fit the flares from the inside of the body.
Nick Winter Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 Thank you Erik, that's my Capri for sure, the Side pipes on the side of the box look identical. Nick
