dirtracer2448 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 (edited) I have had this kit for a while and decided to do a detailed version of it and as a tribute to Carroll Shelby. I started today by opening up the deck lid. Before I open up the doors, I would like suggestions from you guys on the easiest way to do it because I am using the exacto knife shown and it takes a while. Edited August 4, 2012 by dirtracer2448
Mike Kucaba Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Get a second body(junker works well) and use just the doors from it. Cut the doors out small from the primary body and fit & file the donor doors to the primary body. Glue in some support strips to stiffen the body while removing the doors.
dirtracer2448 Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 Thanks for the tip Mike but unfortunately I don't have a spare body. I did however open up the passenger side door with less problems than the deck lid and I didn't break anything! I do still need to fine tune and clean up the gap.
c-man405 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 it takes longer but thread works great less gap to fill in the long run.
Platerpants Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 i love shelby's(as you can tell by the profile picture) hope this one turns out great.

dirtracer2448 Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 This one is going to take a while and I'm open to any criticism and suggestions as I'm kinda new to modeling and this will be my first detailed model.
