modelmike Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I came across an add with a car that i am stumped on.... Anyone know what is???
jbwelda Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) it looks like an austin/morris mini derivative to me, possibly an Innocenti? Edited August 10, 2012 by jbwelda
Rob Hall Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) Maybe something German from the '50s-early '60s...there were a number of small German minicars then. Kind of like a Lloyd Kombi, but different (Lloyds had rear-hinged doors and a different rear bumper). Then again, it could be something created digitally for the ad. CorvairJim Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) Ask Harry... He knows EVERYTHING!!! Edited August 10, 2012 by CorvairJim
jbwelda Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 i am sticking with my mini guess...its pretty obvious those doors, rear windows and overall appearance bear a strong resemblance to one. quite possibly an italian-built or at least designed variant from the looks of it.
Rob Hall Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) Did some searching on Italian wagons..I think it's a '60s Autobianchi Panoramica wagon. Based on the Fiat 500. Here's one.. http://bringatrailer...chi-panoramica/ Edited August 10, 2012 by Rob Hall
Chuck Most Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) I'm with Bill on the Mini variant theory, but I don't think it's an Innocenti- I've never seen one of those with those tall, narrow panes in the C-pillars. EDIT- Looks like Rob found the culprit as I was posting my response. Edited August 10, 2012 by Michigan Madman
Chuck Doan Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I thought all the Mini variants had external hinges?
