I've just come back to model building after many, many years - and hope my old (65yr old) eyes and hands keep up to my enthusiasm - and am re-learning skills. I've ordered a kit of the '41 Pittman Willys and believe it contains a hemi. I think I would like to incorporate the original Olds motor and am wondering what would be the best bet for that engine? For example, I understand that the Beatnik Bandit kit has an Olds motor.

As a secondary question, what is the best way to remove chrome from kit engines? I would prefer to paint certain parts in aluminum/magnesium/etc. rather than bright chrome.

Beatnik Bandit, Thames Panel, Anglia also have the 394. If I remember right, the BB one is all chrome, too. They are a little fiddly, but can look very good with a little patience.
