shafer Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 yesterday I was cleaning out that drawer I have in my garage that comprises of all the model cars that have fell in disarray through out the years.I ran across a build that I did many many years ago. just before going to trash it , i realized it would not take much to resurect, so I rummage through the rest of the drawer where ,i found the bumpers, hood , and grille, i came up with a set of wheels and tires that would look correct and fit, from there it was only adding a couple of decals on the hood and trunk missed on the 1st build and touch up a few spots before a fresh coat of clear. I am glad I saved this petty 68 roadrunner, especially since i cant find a 68 roadrunner now, all i see are 69's. hope you enjoy yes i did put it in the freezer for disassembly.
shafer Posted August 19, 2012 Author Posted August 19, 2012 no i think it was this kit amt 68 roadrunner or a version of it the 43's are from an STP kit plymouth is from old superbird kit , by petty and 426 ci are from torino kit 426 is actually 429 with the 9 cut and turned
disabled modeler Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Great story about the model...always great to hear of them not going to waste. Nothing is too far gone to be of no use at all.....I have built many cool models and restored many with what many would thing of as useless junk....all you have to do to find out is look at my photobucket here under my profile. The 69 Plymouth 4door wagon was once thought of as nothing but junk by another but I seen some potential hiding in it yet. never toss anything out...just send it to me if you want to....I will find a good use for it.
bbowser Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 As Mark said above, never throw anything out (until the Hoarders film crew shows up ). Tastes change over time.

Greg Pugh Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 In that one picture, if you photoshopped out the evidence of the car being in a freezer, it looks like it could pass for the real thing. With the lighting and the dust that's on it, it looks like a barn find or like it's in a warehouse.
