corporate types would add a lot more plastic and less chrome.Myself wouldn't change a thing maybe power steering, brakes and tires.

The alternator could have been mounted in a more discreet location and for that steering wheel he should be dragged out to the car park and shot. Twice.

I like it when its mounted to the diff, and running off the driveline, on an open engine vehicle.

The grille shell is too high relative to the front cowl line. The radiator strut rods are climbing for the sky, towards the front. Not a good look in my opinion. Goofy, actually. Raise the front of the body shell or lower the rad shell. The body is hanging below the frame rails in front, and if it were parallel, the mis-match on the cowl-rad shell line would be better. You can also see the waves and lumps where the roof insert was filled...I think that's what I'm seeing, anyway. Ditch the silly steering wheel, ape-hanger shifter, automatic trans and too-too much cam and induction. (If you keep the overkill carb / manifold setup, maybe check the carb-base angle. It looks like it's down-in-front, and could possibly play jell with float level and idle / drivabliity) Set it up to DRIVE, not just make a lot of noise, with a chain-driven S.C.o.T. bolwer on a Y-block Ford, with a 5-speed. Now THAT would be cool.

......All that said, I still think it's a great looking car, and I'd definitely look more than twice at it at a show or in a mag. So close to perfect, but so far away.........

re: steering wheel- with that chop and channel job, there's no room for anything larger than that thing..

re: engine overkill- a 454 Chevy with 450bhp? good thing gas stations are on every block....

re: radiator height- yeah... never uphill to the front on an A.... level if not a slight downward rake....

re: making an early '30's Ford better? not THIS one, IMHO.....

OK, it needs paint. But apart from that I like it.

There are remarkably few tasty As on the web.

Not at all. All I have is a hard time with the atrocity they put into that A-Bone.

who writes the voice overs for these things? thats who should be shot, the tunnel ram is obviously not made of steel, the carbs are quite obviously edelbrokes, and a 454 and 450 hp like 450 is a big deal?

a big block with 2 4's and a tunnel ram making only 450 horse has something seriously seriously wrong..

are we talking THIS car or early fords in general?

This car? Ace garage guy nailed it. also id fix the bloody door gaps so the doors you know actually SHUT

also: now that ive heard the thing run... id fix the timing and tune the carbs... the thing is running like GARBAGE.

in general? as a man wiswer than me said, If it aint broke....leave it the frig alone! (i'm paraphrasing.)

This one's built to drive (by the shop where I work most often). Fast and reliable. 350 Chevy crate, 3X2 Rochesters, 5-speed GM box, Ford 9" rear. '40 Ford juice brakes (repop). Comfortable once you're in it. 15 inch steering wheel. Top chopped 3.5 inches. Getting final plumbing now, going to paint shortly.
