designosaur73
Started building the General at the weekend - it's a horrible kit really, but it's got nostalgic connections as it's the first 1/25 I bought when I was a kid. One question - the body has the Daytona-style rear window, is this correct? Started on the motor last night, will post pics when I get home from work Anth
martinfan5
No the daytona rear window is nowhere close at all, and thats just the start, if you want to build anything close to a accurate show car, you should get a Revell 68 or 69 charger, the only thing good about the MPC kit is the wheels and decals, even then, there are plenty of aftermarket DOH general lee decals out there
beeRS
In my opinon the best kit to start with for a faithful replica General lee is the Revel 1/25 69 kit. There is a wealth of information about building the General Lee at this link... http://www.di-namix.com/naglfc/howto.htm Hope this helps you Anth

designosaur73
Spose I'm building this one because it's the one I built when I was a kid. I'm well aware that it's not a great kit, but we'll see how we get on...

beeRS
Hey Anth, I know what you mean. I bought a Lamborghini Miura made by Imia just for the sake of nostalgia . I first built this kit when I was about 10 years old. Of course, the new Hasagawa kit f the Miura is much better, but I just had to have the old Miura kit. Good luck with your General Lee. Trucker_tim
Have fun with it hope it brings back memories. I remember some of the kits I used to have as a kid. I have once mixed a orange blossom special with a 57 Chevy ohh the joy of being a kid (null)
designosaur73
Did some work on the motor at the weekend. It's the first proper go I've had at wiring and I'm quite pleased with it! Needs more work on the rocker covers and a few other things yet.
