Big Daddy Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Okay my next build is going to be the Struse*Smith*Welsh project six pack and the closest match to the paint i can find is in the Pactra line (rally green) for R/C Cars, i am wondering if anybody has used this brand on there builds, or have i missed a color that will come close to it thanks
Kit Basher Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 I have used that paint with no problems, but keep in mind it is really "hot". Definitely test it with the primer you want to use. It's made to bond itself to Lexan RC car bodies, and would certainly attack bare styrene. Unfortunately, I can't remember what primer I used. Heck, I can't remember what I had for breakfast! Good Luck!

This paint will not be glossy, as clear plastic racing body shells are painted on the inside, the clear Lexan giving it a high shine, so clear coating it will be necessary. But, it does work when used carefully and properly. Art

While I'm at it, what's the best clear coat to use on this paint? TIA

I'll defer to others here who are more current as to what is available from both those manufacturers, as to primer. As for clear coats, Modelmaster has clear lacquer in a spray can--I've used that numerous times now with great results. Art
