Smart-Resins Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 I picked this old complete 1/8 freedom chopper on Evilbay for $26 with shipping!! My first chance at a Harley chopper big style. I started by cutting off the goofy gooseneck and creating my own with less rake. Then I cut off the tank and filled in the top bar and around the gooseneck. I then took the old forks and combined them with brass tubing to lengthen them. This now sits higher in the front. I took a old wiper blade metal band and twisted it with a drill to make a new custom sissy bar and handlebars. It will be painted Dupli-color bright white blue with Dupli-color Clear Effex over it. The seat will be painted brown leather. I also grabbed a parts bin headlight for it. Hope to have this one done soon.

James2 Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Sound good so far, but your gonna kill yourself with no rake in them forks!!!
Smart-Resins Posted August 16, 2007 Author Posted August 16, 2007 Well, that may be why the choppers today have the front wheel a mile infront of the bike instead of the bike being a mile high in the front.LOL. Besides, I be a tad bit big to ride this one.
Robert81 Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 (edited) sweet, that is oldschool, baby. scrapbuild a tank from plastic sheet, like an long diamond, 70's style and you are set. Edited August 22, 2007 by Robert81
