Well, I guess I will have to wear the "slacker" hat. Try as I did I could not get the lettering to look good. I still think it is due to the curve of the side wall. I canonly get the top portion of the lettering to come out nice. I tried to seach for some Goodyear decals the right size but all I can find is smaller than I need. I will have to live with the black walls.

I went and got some paint today. I needed more primer ( Duplicolor filler primer ) so I went to Pep Boys. I found a yellow that looked like it would match my Vette replica so I got that also. Now besides the primer I never used the Duplicolor line of paints. I like the cost over the model paint. While the cost is close to the same with the model paint you get .3 oz and with the Duplicolor I got ( perfect match ) you get a full 8 oz. Does anyone who uses the Duplicolor have any tips for using this paint ? corvettepaint001.jpg

I think your doing a real good job on this. It takes time is all, Keep up the good work and just think the next one will be better and better. This does not happen over night!

This was the kit that convinced me to stick to 1/25 scale. these oddball scales are just annoying. Be interesting to see how it comes out. if my memory is correct, it's identical to the 1/24 corvette, only bigger (no more detail)

Looks a lot like the Spoiler Vette MPC kit.

It shares a couple things in common with the Spoiler 'Vette, as both are molded in yellow & represent '80-'82 Corvettes, but Ray's is a 1/20 scale kit by Monogram.

Got the Vette painted. Next will be some wet sanding and then time for some clear and a polish.

Looks like ya figured out which way to point the nozzle, so that's a plus. :P Actually, from what I can see, your paint turned out pretty nice.

You would think with a larger kit they would put more detail in it but this is not the case. This kit is several years however and hopefully will build up nice. I just wish I could have pulled off the outline white letters on the tires. I tried several times but just could not get the entire lettering to print no matter how I tried. Body has been cleared and is looking pretty good IMO.
