Bluemiles22 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 I have the ks Pittman Willys kit and want to do it as the darker blue stone woods and Cook car. It looks as though the bottom few inches of the body is cut off on the photos of the real car and the grill is a little bit skinnier also. Has anyone done this modification to any kit? Also the kit comes with a blown hemi instead of the olds engine. Did that particular version of the car have the hemi at one point? Just trying to do the car justice and do it as accurately as possible. Any help would be much appreciated.
High octane Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 The missing couple of inches along the bottom of the body and fenders were when the car was made into a "match racer" instead of a gasser and yes the blown Hemi was used. Big John went from gasser to match racer and back to gasser in the mid 60's.
Bluemiles22 Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 Ok thanks. I was just trying to avoid cutting the body if I didn't have to. So the full bodied car with the hemi would be a correct version?
