slammedi'am Posted November 16, 2012 Author Posted November 16, 2012 This is a great build! It's always cool to see a replica scale car, especially when it can be done accurately. BTW the factory color on your brother's car is code 61 Burnished Brown Metallic, which is a fairly rare color on any of GM's performance cars. Wheels look like Boss 338's which are very similar to most torque thrust style wheels. Looks like you got the stance nailed down perfectly. Can't wait to see this one finished. Yup you are correct on the color...The wheels on his car are Boyd Coddington junk yard wheels And yes the wheels are 19" & 23" Pegasus wheels
PistonDog Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Can't wait to see this completed. Looking sweet!
slammedi'am Posted November 17, 2012 Author Posted November 17, 2012 Almost got the engine done...I dont know if I gonna use the carb yet or not.
Geno Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Thanks Shane, Those look great on your Chevelle. Gives it that mean attitude. those wheels are Pegasus Hobbies T's w/Tires 23" Chrome
FASTBACK340 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 The wheels & stance are everything: and you nailed it. Unique color looks great on that body style. Your cousin has a nice ride. and your off to a great start replicating it.
ll Brandon ll Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I like it. Color isnt really my thing, but it honestly really makes those wheels pop. Nice job replicating it thus far.
slammedi'am Posted December 2, 2012 Author Posted December 2, 2012 Havent messed with it much...Been making me mad because of some stuff not lining up right...Got a photo etched stuff from scaledreams.com and stated putting it on...Almost got the chassis done...I used the Cutlass one from AMT kit on it
DBan91 Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Looks great so far. I don't think I'd use that carb though. To me it just looks off from the rest of the engine. Just my opinion
66belair Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Great color choice from the common colors! How much modification did you have to do to the Cutlass frame?
slammedi'am Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 Carb has been changed to the one the kit came with...With the Cutlass frame motor sits up a lil bit more.. I had to trim the top of the tranny and the trans member to get it in there right
vintagedragfan Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 great progress, really like the color!!
rustybill1960 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Love the Chevelle! I drove two myself, '69 and '73, wish I still had them, oh the agony of being young!! Great looking build Man!! Thank You for sharing Later Russ
