Jim B Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Some nice looking trucks. Are those screens pretty much standard equipment on Australian trucks?
kiwi Posted October 23, 2012 Author Posted October 23, 2012 Thanks Jim, yep there were some great looking rigs at the show. Sorry can't really answer your question re the screens - I'm not in the industry (just have an interest and enjoy photographing them). 2010 Kenworth K108 by ghost chips, on Flickr p.s. These trucks are in New Zealand (not Australia) although being Kenworths they were possibly built in the Australian factory (if that's what you meant). Cheers
Jim B Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 That's what I ment. Those K108s are sweet! Don't see many K100s over here any more. Although there is a company down in the Utica area that has a fleet of K100s. They deliver pool water.
swampyankeejames Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I wish someone would show some pics of the inside of those aussie trucks.
GeeBee Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Nice ! I do prefer the bonneted trucks, the mesh grill is to stop stone being flicked up and smashing the windscreen,
BigBad Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 (edited) Man you guys have nice trucks! You still have the KW cabover! I had this idea of buying a K104 conversion cab from Auslowe and converting that into a North American phantom version... Edited November 6, 2012 by BigBad
cobraman Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 I thought maybe the screens were to protect the lights if you nailed a roo.

GeeBee Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I thought maybe the screens were to protect the lights if you nailed a roo. Didn't think Kangaroo's were native in New Zealand .... in Austalia they do have what they call Roo' bars fitted to the trucks
Wagoneer81 Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 The screens are definitely for gravel protection... There were times I wished that I'd had them on my trucks here in The States...
