george 53 Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Ok guys, I saw how one of our brothers shortened a full size Chevy pick-up bed to a short bed, and now i was wondering where to make the cuts to make a full sized Dodge bed into a short bed. anyone know the proper dimensions or can tell me where to cut it to make one? I only got ONE extra bed, an I DON'T want to screw it up! ANY help is GREATLY appericiated!!!
Fat Brian Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 It looks like Dodge does the same as Ford in that they add all of the extra bed length at the front of the bed which means you only need to cut one end off. Most fullsize pickup beds are 6 1/2 feet for the short bed and 8 feet for the long bed so will need to remove about three quarters of an inch from the the area ahead of the wheel wells. If you can find a 1:1 subject to get measurements from you can get the exact amout.
jeffs396 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 George, you can take the quick & easy route and get one from Don & Carol: http://www.modelhaus.com/index.php?c=4247&p=69804
