This question may have been posted before and if so, I apologize. I am looking for a source for 1/16 scale slicks and front tires for an old Revell Funny Car kit. I got an old kit from a friend and I'm trying to build it but the tires are shot. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

This is a common problem. The soft rubber that Revell used may last ten years before it won't support the weight of the model. One thing you can do is fill the inside of the rubber. I know some have used strips of the carpet padding foam rubber.

Mike, I like the idea, but these tires aren't even in one piece. The slicks are "dissolved" and the front tires are in multiple pieces.

The Revell 1/16 tires did not hold up well for whatever reason, so you're not alone in having this problem.

It looks like Competition Resins only offers copies of the 1/16 Aurora M&H rear slicks (which I think are far better than the Revell Goodyear/Firestone tires anyway): http://www.compresins.com/site/751597/product/CRT-508

I don't see any Funny Car style front tires listed, but you could ask them.

Flashpoint Motorsports offers some tires which are similar to the Revell F/C front tires, though: http://ecsvr.com/fpm/ShopExd.asp?id=20

Talk to Terry at Flashpoint he carries Good Year Front Runners. Use the link Casey provied. Terry does great work and I have a few sets of these and the rest of his tires in my collection.
