Custom Hearse Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 A friend of mine showed me this web site. It shows the forum rankings for all of the U.S. Here's our ranking, and average age and description of members.... http://www.quantcast.com/modelcarsmag.com
Harry P. Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 I think some of those numbers are way off. I think there are far fewer female members, and I wonder if the largest group of members is in the 18-24 group?
lonewolf Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 I'm with Harry. I think those numbers are totally out of whack! Furthermore, how do they even come up with that info considering that when you click on a member's profile, most of our members tend to only give very basic information, if any at all.
mr moto Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 (edited) I think some of you might be misinterpreting the numbers. Everything is compared to a mythical 100 that equals the internet average. For instance, the two bars that show male vs. female don't tell you anything about how many females we have as compared to males. It just shows that our percentage of males is well above the average for the internet and our percentage of females is well below the internet average. That sounds believable to me. In short, though, it's a pretty unclear way to present data. BTW, how did they get the data? Edited August 25, 2007 by mr moto
Gregg Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 It's an advertising marketing gimmick/scam They use the google spiders and bots to collect data and then try to sell services to those sites under the pretense of being able to increase traffic to their site. Everyone on the web is out to make money off of someone else someway or another
