Simon Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Hi folks, another one gone from the stash and it’s another old 1/24 Revell/Monogram Mopar. This was a real Friday 13th build, everything I did spoiled things I had previously done. Polish the top coat? It wears through to the primer. Silver the body trim? I get silver finger marks on the vinyl roof (what am I, 7 years old?). Also, I didn’t like the look of the stock air cleaner and rubber surround, so I got a chrome triple-carb air cleaner from the spares box, and cut my hand putting the spares box back in the cupboard. Somebody, somewhere didn’t want me to finish this one! Anyway, this build was part of Operation Reduce-Stash so I needed it done quick and good enough to display at home. Next time I’m going to do something less stressful, like a Pocher Mercedes. Thanks for looking.
Scuderia Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Lol sorry to hear about your troubles, and gremlins here. Bright side is that you got it done and it looks good. Nothing wrong with the Revello Mopar kits to me
Daglove15 Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Dude this is a nice build. Love the mix of the orange and the flat black.
PistonDog Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Very nice build. I have been trying to restore a '69 cougar that fought me every (literally) step of the build. This thing will either bend to my whims or see the crusher (trash compactor). In other words, I can commiserate with you brother
Guest Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Beautiful! A cure for the silver trim problems and far more realistic, and easier, BMF.
Ford guy Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 It's hard to imagine this model giving you trouble, since it turned out so good. Love the color! It's one great looking MOPAR!
Geno Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Looks great to me. I love these old B body Mopars. The look mean standing still.
MyBradKeselowski Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Looks great, I like the vinyl top...
Green Duster Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Great job! Hope your next project go's better.
