Alyn Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Cool concept, Corey; and you're doing a great job of bringing it to life. Out of the box with both feet for sure
dimebolt Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 Thanks Alyn. Here are some mock up pics. Got a little bit done tonight, just waiting on the paint on my visor to dry. Then It'll be installed.
dimebolt Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 I'll have a couple more pics in a little bit. Thanks for looking. Corey
dimebolt Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 Here are the last of my pics for the night. Thanks for looking. Corey
vintagedragfan Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 nice Corey, moving along pretty good! I wish I could say the same!
crazyjim Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 The visor is extremely cool. I noticed you're going with suicide doors. What are you using for seats? The kit items seem too large to use a hinge.
H.A.K Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Cant belive IIm seeing this thread for the 1st time right now. WoW I'd never think to do that to those fenders.. Great work sofar.
crazyrichard Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 the flame theme is not my style .. but ... you pull it off so well it just looks awsome ... really impressive stuff imo.... love it
dimebolt Posted November 27, 2012 Author Posted November 27, 2012 Thanks Jim, Sam, and Richard. Jim, I'm not sure what I'm gonna use for seats just yet. Thinking about going with a bomber style seat. As far as a hinge system, I'm gonna just have to locate them where they're out of the way somewhere. Probably as high and low as possible. I was going to do gullwing style doors, but the more I think about it, the more I just want to do them suicide. Plus the hinges would be harder to make functional without being right in the drivers line of sight. Corey
crazyjim Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 The kit bench seat certainly won't work. Here's a bomber seat that I cast.
dimebolt Posted November 28, 2012 Author Posted November 28, 2012 (edited) Those are cool Jim. I'm actually thinking of building one, maybe two from scratch, and carrying over the flame theme in them. But your seats do look vey cool If I do another oldie, I'll have to give you a shout. dimebolt Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 Here are some mock up pics with the suspension actually under the truck for a more realistic example of the ride height. Painted the wheels today also.
Pat Minarick Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Looking good Corey ! Really like the fender ideal.
dimebolt Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 Thanks Pat. They were kind of an after thought. But alot of the ideas I've incorporated into this build have come along as it progressed. Just kind of wingin' it since I really don't know much about building these old rods, so there hasn't been a whole lot of planning involved. But......I do have a couple more tricks up my sleeve for this one. Corey
vintagedragfan Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 looking sweet Corey!, I'm ready to see the webbers goin on!
dimebolt Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 Thanks Bill. Soon man, soon. lol. Corey
dimebolt Posted December 1, 2012 Author Posted December 1, 2012 (edited) For some reason I cant get the toolbar to come up for my post options. I don't know whether it's gonna let me post these pics or not. Guess we're about to find out. All right Bill, the time has come buddy! Got my Webers installed, and detail painted today. Also made the air trumpets and got them installed, and the moon tank installed to the radiator housing. Edited December 1, 2012 by dimebolt
dimebolt Posted December 1, 2012 Author Posted December 1, 2012 (edited) I guess it is going to let me do it this way. So, better than nothing I guess. Edited December 1, 2012 by dimebolt
