crazyjim Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 We got home from our Rolling Thunder - Floria Chapter 7 meeting and found a box from Carney Plastics had been delivered. The plastic case is 24" x 28 1/2" with 7 clear plastic shelves and a mirror back. It'll hold 24 1/24 models. I filled the first one. This is #2 and I'm already looking for a place to hang #3. Carney Plastics does a very nice job on these display cases. I ordered it Wednesday and it arrived today via FedEx. I ordered straight from Carney because the shipping was cheaper than going through Amazon.
Chuck Most Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 I've seen those Carney cases- trouble is I'd STILL need to add a wing to my house to accomodate them all!
crazyjim Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Not a problem Chuck. My best friend is a contractor who used to build million dollar plus homes in Illinois. I'm sure he could handle an addition to your house.
DRG Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 I have just gotten back into modeling after what I thought was a forty year break. My wife reminded me that I did some ten or twelve years ago and everything was packed away in the attic. Got it all out and got my area ready. Do I have a great wife or what?

Nick Winter Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 A working camera, just need to figure out the settings. My grandfather gave me his diecast collection, some are limited production from Franklin mint and Danbury mint, all the collectable ones have there paperwork,
Nick Winter Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 (edited) Sorry for flooding the topic with these. Edited May 10, 2010 by Dukefan69'
highway Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Nice haul Nick! Now just for you to figure out the camera!! Seriously, though, for your close up pics, like the real blurry one, there should be a "Macro" setting for close ups. Depending on the camera, there should be a "Macro" setting in the menu or some have a little wheel for the settings, the little flower looking icon should be the "Macro" setting. You can use the macro for the other shots, too, and your close up pics will be much clearer.
Railfreak78 Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Oh hey Nick I know about Hot Wheels. I can't tell you about the big cars but I know that the Matchbox blue and white Chevy pickup (the 90's style) is from a Taco Bell 4 car set. I'm not good for what they are worth but if you need info on things PM me and I'll see if I can help.

crazyjim Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 FedEx just dropped a package from TCP Global. The box contained a 4 oz bottle of Solar Gold, 4 oz Orion Silver (I use for basecoats) and 2 oz bottles of Magenta Candy, Wild Cherry Candy, Burgundy Candy, Persimmon Candy, and Teal Candy. My stock on paints has increased. I can't get into them today because I need to trim, edge, and cut the grass. Maybe pull some weeds too.
JamesW Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I got this today in a trade with Brandon (bad0210). My Aoshima collection is slowly growing. This one makes #4, there will be a 5th in a couple days. I'm a happy camper now since I've been trying to get my hands on this one forever.

Sounds like some wild colors, going to have to check tCP out again. I'm assuming these are House of Kolors?

I don't build no other Japanese kit's but Aoshima, IMHO these are the best...
RodneyBad Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 Not THE Corolla I'm looking for but what the Heck, It looks Good.
JamesW Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 (edited) Here's todays haul. Which takes my Aoshima collection to a grand total of 5. 1 is in a case awaiting completion. Edited May 12, 2010 by grimreaper
highway Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 I got this from a friend of mine last night who repairs and rebuilds computers, just so I can enjoy my favorite model forum from the comfort of my model desk!! It's not as powerful as my main computer, and found it REALLY doesn't like pages with tons of pics (HINT, HINT!!), because I had to come back to the main computer to make this post!!!! At least I don't have to leave the model desk to research projects or get pics of projects I'm working on and have already researched!
JamesW Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Yeah, now that you have a computer at your bench you'll never get anything built. That's why I don't have very many finished.

Yeah, maybe, but I'm lazy!!!! At least now I don't have to walk all the way to the main computer to check the forum!!! Edited May 13, 2010 by highway
