Scuderia Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Looks like a good plan to start. He was quite the driver, cut down too soon
martinfan5 Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 I have never built any of AK's car, and I have always loved the hooters paint schemes, I think I know what I will be building next year.

Droppedgmc Posted January 6, 2013 Author Posted January 6, 2013 So just made a big move into a new house..finally got my modeling stuff set back up. here's some updates
Shunter Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Great start, not a fan of the AMT Nascars mainly due to scale. This is coming along well and i was a big fan of AK's.
THarrison351 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Looks good so far. I built the Monogram version years ago. I have built several AMT cars and othe than the tires, have always liked the results.
Heartattaq Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Beautiful start, man it is hard for me to envision Kulwicki in anything but a hooters car lol
bbowser Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Nice clean work so far, I really like the seat. AK was one of the good ones, gone too soon. I think he only had the Hooters sponsorship for one year?
martinfan5 Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I hope he didnt forget about this one, I want to see this one finished, its making me want to start build some AK cars, have not done any yet, and dont know why
Edsel-Dan Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 (edited) I have a few of Alan's kits too. Monogram Rookie of The Year Quincy's Steak House as well as the Racing Reflections custom issue Slight differences in the decals. I have all 3 of the RR kit including the Hooter's. I even have an after market Hooter's decal set. I have Monogram's Plus kit of the Zerex and the Z version 87 T-Bird set. I was surprised to get this AMT kit VERY Cheap off ebay!! Nascar kits are dropping in demand and price. I would like to build all the AK cars. I even have a Rev/Italeri Aeromax I want to build as his transporter. But, I would like to find one molded in White as that blue is some what dark!! I wonder how many championships he would have won had he not died so young!! He sure showed the big teams something!!!
