Johnag4004 Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Hi all, I managed to find this a few years ago in a charity shop, it used to be a remote control but all the electrics had been removed, anyway, it's been sat in my loft for some time and I thought I'd give it a fresh look... This is how it used to look, it's not painted, it's just shiny black plastic...
Johnag4004 Posted December 2, 2012 Author Posted December 2, 2012 Complete strip down... Primed and a couple of coats of silver... The headlights where two holes with bumps in the middle, I left the bump silver and filled the space with Micro Kristal Klear ( http://www.scalemodelshop.co.uk/micro-kristal-klear-microscale-mskk.html ) I stripped the rear bumper...
Johnag4004 Posted December 2, 2012 Author Posted December 2, 2012 I then painted in some lights and used the Micro Kristal Klear for the lens... Drying on the radiator...
Johnag4004 Posted December 2, 2012 Author Posted December 2, 2012 Finished... Thank you for looking... Any and all hints & tips greatly received...

Swamp Dog Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 it looks good, the only thing i would change is to get a diffrent hitch on there one that dosent look like a toy. yes i agree with the 5th wheel change...but a great face lift...
kilrathy10 Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Wow... that looks cool...I like the transformation...Even with the toy like fifth wheel, it looks good...If you put a trailer on it, nobody will know....Very nice..
BigBad Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 I haven't seen too many scale T2000's. Except for the De'Elegant kit and some 1:32 toys. So this is a good save, nice job!
slusher Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Nice work on the turn around. Nice color choice..
72 Charger Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Nice renovation the raised detail is a bit big ! but it still looks good
Johnag4004 Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 Many thanks everyone for your kind words and tips... Wow... that looks cool...I like the transformation...Even with the toy like fifth wheel, it looks good...If you put a trailer on it, nobody will know....Very nice.. It did come with a trailer, I'm going to have a go at turning it in to a flat-bed trailer, so I can then try and make some cargo for it... Nice renovation the raised detail is a bit big ! but it still looks good Thank you Dave, may I ask which bit please...
Johnag4004 Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 Hi all, I've just finished the trailer... To start with... Stripped down... I used two pieces of thin Balsa for the new bed... Taped up so I could paint the edges, the head-board is also made from Balsa wood...
