I got another race trailer going....This will be totally a curbside model, but I think I'll show how you can build one of these without a bunch of time...What you see here I did in a few hours...Literally...It's a 53 footer, if anyone is wondering...

That's what I'm using... .060 I find it to be quite useful to make just about anything....Nice and sturdy...

Some more progress...I've got everything laid out and ready to assemble...The trick, here, is to make the left and right side MIRROR images...As far as the outlining...The measurements don't need to be perfect, they just need to be the same....And the middle portions, ie. the top, bottom, front, and back need to be exactly the same width...This is where things need to be as accurate as possible...The last photo shows how I used scrap pieces of plastic to make attachment points for those very inner pieces....They will never be seen, so there's no need to be proper with it...Then I slapped them all together using good old fashioned tube glue...That stuff works great for larger pieces like these...All that's left, now, is to make axles for the wheels and tires, which are just AMT Pete 359 wheels and tires from a model that I wasn't very happy with...But you can use anything...And, as you can see, this is a curbside model, so there is no suspension...If you're just looking for a nice display model, then suspension can be a little overrated; since all it's gonna do is sit on the shelf...In this case we'll just leave that part out...Total time on this is only about 4 hours spread over a couple of days...

its going behind a kenworth w900. i'm the guy he is building it for. its a copy of the trailer we haul our race cars in. jt is a great guy to deal with. i have worried the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH out of him with questions and concerns and he has been just a super nice guy. will definitely be staying in touch with him and sure he will be building more trailers for me in the future. thanks alot jt cant wait to see the finished product.

Oh, you got it, Man...I can't wait till I get a nice coat of paint on it...Still waiting on the weather to cooperate...I don't have a spray booth or anything, so, I'm kinda dependent on the weather's being nice...I pray the Lord blesses us with a good day today...

I forgot to add a little "How To" on wheel arches...This used to give me fits when I first started doing these things...

First, you'll need the stuff found in this first picture..A template, box cutters, and a pencil...I found these box cutters to be awesome at this...Then, you'll need to mark out where the arches are gonna be with a template or something, of course....Once you've done that, you just cut a chunk of the plastic out of the middle of the arch...This will allow the plastic to separate a lot easier while you're cutting; thereby making a cleaner cut...Trust me, it works a lot better than I can explain...Then lightly score on the line you've marked out...Make sure you do this, as it will make subsequent cuts much easier...Then just keep scoring until the plastic separates..Use just the very tip of the knife so you can maneuver on the line...It takes a steady hand, but if you go slowly on the first scoring it will provide a grove that will make cutting progressively easier....Suddenly, you have a nice clean wheel arch...

I'm sure there are more refined methods of doing this, but if you don't have a lot of money for laser cutters and such, like me, then I'd recommend you give this a try... Only took me about five minutes to do; including photographing it... I hope this provides help for somebody, as I really needed something like this when I first started, but couldn't find anything...

Well, Boys, I just got it finished...At least all I'm gonna do to it...The rest is up to Jeremy....I was able to get a good coat of paint on it, and the wheels fitted...I'm satisified with the way it came out...I wish it were sunny out, though...It's hard to get black to photograph well...I just put it behind my Pete to show how it should look with a rig...Thanks for looking and all the nice comments, Guys....Thank you...

just want to say this guy is first class. i called and asked him was there any way to make a few changes and what extra he'd charge me to do them and he said he liked the trailer and really wouldn't mind keeping it for himself and that he could redo me another one with the changes. that in my opinion is top notch he could have easily said no that i had to take that one cause honestly he built what i sent him a pic of so really it was my fault. didn't ask for any additional cost or anything just said no problem i'll get it built for you.

Well, as my man mentioned, I'm gonna have to build another one...No problem...I liked the one I built, so I added a little to it, since it's mine, now, but first, let's get started on the new trailer...

Now, here's what I've done to the other one...I liked the overall design, but I had to put the bottom part back in....A simple fix, as I just added some structure to it and here we go...I needed another trailer for the 377 in the last pic, anyway, and this one fits the bill quite well...

once again looks awesome. you don't know how much i appreciate you redoing it. you could have easily said no or that i owed you for another trailer but you didn't and that is first class in my book. was beginning to worry bout the money order situation but glad it all worked out and finally made it to its right destination. will definitelly do business with you again have another project in mind but will be awhile before i get it done will have to talk with you and see what we can come up with at a later time. so again this gentleman is a top notch first class guy and if he can tolerate me and my pickyness he can tolerate anybody. thanks again and will stay in touch.

The first trailer has full size rims and tires and the second has the shorter rims and tires...For the full sized rims and tires you can use AMT's or Revell's or Italeri's...You can use the toy rims and tires or the rims and tires from the Italeri race trailers, which I have found to be the same size as 1/32 scale rims and tires...Opens up a lot of possibilities...As for blueprints...There are no blueprints....I guess I could make up a set, but just about every trailer is a little bit different...Just as all 1:1 trailers are custom...I'll make up a set for you...

It's amazing what can be acheived with a little imagination and some pieces of plastic. I like scratch building and get a great dealof satisfaction from it. This is a great project with a very pleasing outcome.
