ViperDave Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I built this one back in 74 if I remember correctly. It was a quickie and I just put it up when I got done. I had to dust it off a little bit. I'm leaving it just this way. I have another one if I want to do something better.
Guest roadkill2525 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 A good looking Mustang II, would this be the AMT kit?
Randy Kern Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Ya know Dave, I can see a new thread started here; 'oldest surviving models'! This and your Fairlane look great after all these years.
455 Rocket Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 A good looking Mustang II, would this be the AMT kit? I think this is the old Revell Monroe Mustang if I'm not mistaken.
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I think this is the old Revell Monroe Mustang if I'm not mistaken. I was thinking the old AMT Mustang II Python kit with the IMSA body panels. This is the first one I've seen built and I like it!!!
Tonioseven Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I was thinking the old AMT Mustang II Python kit with the IMSA body panels. This is the first one I've seen built and I like it!!! Marc is correct; I have the Monroe Handler and the body panels are similar but different. Terrific model!
patrol52 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I don't know about you guys, but I consider cars from the late 70's to 80's "new" cars. That body style mustang is one I never really liked, but those body mods make it look entirely different and much more like the muscle car is should have been. It's very impressive that it has held up for so long. I still have models my dad made when he was younger, but most of them are in pieces and need restoration.
lizardlust Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Neat survivor, Dave!! I wonder if the IMSA and "cafe" racer trend will ever come back? It's not TOO different than Pro Touring in many aspects!
