sbk Posted May 17, 2014 Author Posted May 17, 2014 The mold for the tuck and roll, what is that made of? Resin? This is an idea I really want to try. The mold is silicone. I'm not sure what brand since I didn't make the mold, but any brand should work.
iBorg Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 I wonder if I could use household silicone to make one..... I don't have resin casting supplies although I know its a skill I'd like to learn.

I've used that stuff before for small parts, & it worked. But, a friend tried it on the trim of a primed car body & he could never remove it. So, I guess you can give it a try on a small unpainted piece to see if it will work before trying it on the tuck & roll piece.
Danno Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Spectacular build, Steve! Fantastic tips. Thanks for sharing them all.
drifterdon Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Absolutely one of the BEST I've ever seen Steve. I'd love to know how you do your upholstery with the pipping. Very realistic. Also, do you send your bumpers/grill out to be chromed or is this Alclad?
