Ron35369 Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 This one I built several years ago. It's got a corduroy interior & some custom touches.
customsrus Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Nice build. I like your idea for the interior, Color looks awesome.
Ramfins59 Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Great car. I love that corduroy interior...... I'll have to try that someday.
rustybill1960 Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Love the color Ron!! And Yes, I like the interior choice You made!! Thank You for sharing Later Russ
vintagedragfan Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 great idea on the corduroy interior, nice work
rmvw guy Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Nice looking custom. I, like everyone else, love the interior and the paint. Also the cover for the convertible top, did you make that or is it a kit piece? Congratulations on a beautiful model.
Kustoms Illustrated Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Very cool! What kit did the '56 Olds Fiesta wheel covers come from?
Guest Johnny Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Neat idea on the uhpolstery, great looking old Ford!
Danno Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Ahhhhh, yes. Corduroy to replicate tuck-n-roll "upholstery!" Good to see it again. Haven't seen that used in decades, but it was 'the real thing' in the 60's in the modeling world. Squint your eyes a little (to blur out the fiber "hairs") and it looked just like tuck-n-roll. Goes hand-in-hand with the old days' sewing thread for spark plug wires. Nice model, Ron, especially considering its age.
kilrathy10 Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Great paint...I love the color...And the interior looks really nice...Very nice work...
Ron35369 Posted January 13, 2013 Author Posted January 13, 2013 Thank you again for all the great comments! Yes, I guess I'm a little behind the times with my upholstery. I built this model back in the mid 90's & was just fooling around with different fabrics & found a good sized swatch of corduroy & I thought...that would look like tuck n roll..from a fair distance..lol, so I tried it. I was pleased with the results. I also used the same material for the interior of a 51 Chevy Bel Air that I haven't posted photos of yet. Ron Martz...I'm pretty sure the convertible boot was included in the kit. Luke...I think the Olds Fiesta caps came from the Revell "Skips Drive In" 59 Ford Skyliner kit. A special thank you to Dr. Cranky...Virgil, I watch your videos on you tube all the time! Very informative & entertaining too. Keep up the good work.
