Well since this isn't a Nascar i guess it will go here. Maybe the Nascar section should be renamed the Motor Sports section.

Started this one over 2 years ago and was turned off by a warped body. It was painted and half way done when it was boxed back up and tossed in the closet, i pulled it back out and finished it this last weekend. Just did it box stock since you cant really see inside the car due to the blacked out rear window and all the roll cage in the way. I was very sad the engine was only 2 parts, would have loved to see something more there.

Great job on this one, very crisp work. I too was bummed with the flimsy engine. The C5R kit has a full engine, but I don't recall if the guts translate to this body...

Thanks, i cant say its my best work. Funny how much has changed in the way i build in the last 2 years. I was almost tempted to strip it down and start fresh. Id love to do a C5R kit and go crazy with details.

Warped body? Are you referring to behind the front tires? If so, that is supposed to warp inward like that.

Nope it was warped in the front of the body. The hood would sit flush on one side and sit up about 3/16 next to the windshield on the drivers side.

Pretty good at that price for sure, I especially like the steering wheels on the C5R kit for some reason.

I wasn't counting on it for that price! Heck they are going for 15-20 + 6-9 bucks shipping and i'm getting the Nascar model also. I don't build them so ill trade it off for something i guess.

Ill keep that in mind when it gets here. Should have it by the end of the month. Hoping it will be in a few days since they are only a few hours away from me.

I saw that after i bought it. I've seen one that was built with the front fenders/hood removed from the car just like the Die-cast ones are. Kinda thinking about that or spending a couple months just going wild on plumbing and leaving the body off......idk. lol I've got my 1/12 GT500 to finish up and a 70 Boss 302 Mustang to build before i start the C5R, gives me time to research pictures.

Sadly they do not. might make a good starting point though,

I also think this is a very clean build. Crisp execution!

Another option is to buy the 2001 daytona or 2002 lemans resin body fron Historic Racing Models. Pricey but the hood lifts off and the louvers are open,

Joe.
