southpier Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 you certainly made that into a great looking traditional hot rod!
Johnny1973 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Awesome job,Dr Cranky! the guitar and amp are the finishing touches.Great work!
Dr. Cranky Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 Delighted to hear you all liked it.
rmvw guy Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Dr.C...congrats another awesome deuce...and u even used a cranky shaft for the spreader... I love this about the "cranky shaft". I just can't help myself from checking in on this one every two hours now. Love to see more pictures but, enjoying the comments too. Doc you have a huge fan club!
Dr. Cranky Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 Thanks, Ron. Actually if you want to see all the pictures of this build, you can go here: http://public.fotki.com/vsuarez666/voodoo-customs-chop-shop/models-1/crossroads-blues-32/
Builder Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Nice job. It was fun following the build - which went very quickly too ! I have ordered two of these kits ....... to start with.
Harry P. Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Doc, you have outdone yourself! Love it! Everything is just spot on! Waaaaaay cooler than the car on the kit box cover. And as cool as the car is, I have to say the guitar and amp steal the show. A perfect complement to the model. I bet Billy Gibbons would give you a "haw haw" on this one anytime!
Harry P. Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 BTW... how did you do the "Hot Rod" script on the amp? PE? Decal?
bondo bill Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 really cool concept and build, love the paint and textures, is the amp scratch built?
Sixx Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Thats SWEET Doc!!!!!!!!!! All the right touches!!!
rmvw guy Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Thanks, Ron. Actually if you want to see all the pictures of this build, you can go here: http://public.fotki.com/vsuarez666/voodoo-customs-chop-shop/models-1/crossroads-blues-32/ You are a rock star Doc! Thanks for all the eye candy.
Harry P. Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 For your next one you'll have to do a tribute to my favorite ZZTop song...
Dr. Cranky Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 BTW... how did you do the "Hot Rod" script on the amp? PE? Decal? Thanks, Harry, that's a P.E. from Detail Master, I believe. One sheet brings a whole bunch of badges and emblems that are perfect for this kind of thing. I sure did have fun building this one, and I look forward to building a few more.
Dr. Cranky Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 LOL, thank you everyone. I think ZZ TOP's MUSIC is the perfect sound track for building rat rods as well as hot rods. I also love Jimmy Vaughn's music too.
OldTimer50707 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 That is one sweet ride. You knocked another one out of the park.
Duntov Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 I like this grill work!!! It is different and well done!!!
crazyrichard Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 like said in the build thread > awsomeness , just looks soo cool i love it
JasonFL Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Awesome looking build doc., it was a lot of fun to watch. I love what you've done with it. This kit has so many cool parts I have to get my hands on one. Looking forward to the next mad creation, keep it up.
Jim Whalen Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 (edited) Hi, Fantastic build Cranky! Lots of character has been infused into this one. I've got your book and one day I'll be brave enough to try some of the techniques in it! Cheers, Jim Edited February 3, 2013 by Jim Whalen
Jantrix Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Great work Virgil, the hood ornament is a nice touch.
LoneWolf15 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 All right ! Fantastic job through and through ! That being said , the next has to be of the shiny variety . You have to keep the other side of the fence's occupants happy too ! Lmao ! The amp and guitar put it over the top !
