Kenny B Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 This is one of my older builds a 1/8 scale 79 Trans-Am. I built this about 20 years ago. It was in need of some body work, the roof and trunk was crushed badly when I bought it. Kenny B

Kenny B Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 Wow, Okay here comes new pics taken today sooo... excuse the dust that I missed. To bad it wasn't nice outside today they would have turned out alot better. Enjoy. I also have the 32 Ford, 65 Corvette,83 Corvette and a badly beat up 83 Camaro all in 1/8 scale. I'll have to take some photos and post them. Thanks again to everyone. Kenny B
The70judgeman Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Again...beautiful build on the T/A. Love the red color on the Vette too. Great stuff! Thanks for sharing!
Kenny B Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 Harry, I went to the fabric store and picked out some black valor material and used some spray adhesive to glue it to the seats headliner and carpets. Then use your fingernail or something pointed to follow the pattern in the seats. Kenny B.
Harry P. Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 That's the cool thing about big scale... you can add detail like seat upholstery. Well done!
pepperdrumstix Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Nice build!! Was this kit molded in a sort of metallic brown plastic? I have one in brown and want to paint it black. My hood is cracked a bit so I will need to repair that. I hope mine comes out half as good as your build. Patrick
Kenny B Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 Nice build!! Was this kit molded in a sort of metallic brown plastic? I have one in brown and want to paint it black. My hood is cracked a bit so I will need to repair that. I hope mine comes out half as good as your build. Patrick Patrick, The kit was molded in a brown metallic plastic. I don't know why it is that the bigger kits have a harder type plastic than the other scales. The plastic cracks as mine did across the front of the right roof to the back of the left quarter panel/trunk.The front left piller was cracked in half and cracked down the drivers door. I don't know that stripping it twice with easy off may have weakened the plastic or not.I found alot of spider cracks along the rockers as well. But all said make sure that you prep the body really well and that your body work is perfect. Any imperfections will show up and stand out in black paint. Other than that it is a nice kit to build so go all out . Kenny B
