brett Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 like I needed another project got this out and was having a look at it and the roof fell off !! :o somehow about 3mm fell off all the pillars so then I had to line em all back up haven't decided much about anything else yet including color though I was thinking flat black with a bright metallic roof
Custom Hearse Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Those dang plastic eating termites! They can be such a bother... Then again, they might make something better! I like the look of this! I'll have to watch and see how this goes.
brett Posted March 14, 2013 Author Posted March 14, 2013 thanks guys gonna do the steel wheels the same colour
Mooneyzs Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Brett....i am totally digging this build. I am loving the chopped top and that ride height is perfect. That color on the roof looks great!! You going to do the whole car that color??. Keep up the awesome work.
brett Posted March 15, 2013 Author Posted March 15, 2013 thanks Chris, Got the black on ( a nice satin ), you'll have to imagine the roof as its still taped up at the moment, I think once its been foiled and chrome installed it'll look chithot man I did have a backup colour to go over the black but as it came out just as I envisaged it, it aint gonna happen.
CrazyGirl Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 way cool !! can i ask what kind of glues and fillers you used ???
brett Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 Thanks guys, got it foiled but no pics yet . I do use Tamiya putty as a finishing filler, most of my body work is done with styrene and super glue with baking soda. I dont seem to have a lot of success with the Tamiya cement but it does soften styrene filler pieces pretty good.
slusher Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Very nice work so far Brett, nice chop and color choices. Satin black really looks nice on it...
mr.grumpy Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Unexpected roof chips are always a pain to put right but you did a great job
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 All that slice-n-dice on the roof sure looks great under paint. Good stuff.
brett Posted March 17, 2013 Author Posted March 17, 2013 thanks guys , most of the shiny stuffs attached and I started on the interior the mexican blanket actually has no sheen to it at all so the camera flash is lying, gloss blacked all the lug nuts tonight so will try alclading them (with a brush) tomorrow
crazyrichard Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 these kits are disolving even more as the years go by awsome build love the flat black and color , looking great
peekay Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Nice work Brett - chopped and lowered and with that colour scheme it looks real mean.
Dr. Cranky Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Coming along nicely. Love those two colors and they way they work together.
crazyjim Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Yo Brett - why a SHINY body? I'd make it all SHINY :) , but that's me. Good looking build though.
