CrazyGirl Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 ok silly question time ,,, where do i find the fine tools to handle and work on photo-etch parts ,, sorry for being a pain ,, Anne
Foxer Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 (edited) Here's a few links for tools I use: Tamiya bending pliers - for photo etch parts. Many hobby stores sell these. Xuron Professional Photo Etch Scissor Sometimes I just use an xacto knife to cut off the frets. Bending tool: Micro-Mark has a similar one for less money. Those are pretty much the basic tools to make things easier. I've also just used a metal edge to bend P.E. Edited March 17, 2013 by Foxer
crazyjim Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Instead of paying all that money for a PE bender, you could use a metal straight edge to hold the piece and a razor blade to use as the bending tool. Then too, you could wait because Fatkidd is working on a PE bending tool.

my80malibu Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 I have the folding tool from the smallshop.it came with another tool to form metal PE into circular shapes.a good pair of scissors, &some pliers with a smooth wide jaw opening.
Nacho Z Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 It looks like your question has been answered. Let me add my 2 cents. I use the Xuron PE shears / scissors and the Small Shop's Hold and Fold. Both items are top quality and I whole heartedly recommend them. If you are doing just the occasional one or two pieces of PE and have simple bends you can get by without the PE tools. I have 1:350 USS Missouri and Yamato with tons of PE and these tools will be essential. Although the Hold and Fold is pricey, once you buy it you'll have it for a lifetime.
