Pavel A. Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Wau. It will be great project. Nice start. Pavel.
Mr mopar Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Are you starting to build it? Should be a good one .
BigBad Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 It's a good looking kit and it's HEAVY! I got the same one with the additional US conversion kit that adds the LH steering and dashboard, new front air inlets and side skirts. This is a build to watch!
jacobus Posted March 23, 2013 Author Posted March 23, 2013 chassis built and make it short on the sizes [its calcullated,] cleaning cab and first primer and test spray [mettalic blue ] l so its drying now look now for interior colours jacobus
Goldminer Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Hi jacobus, this is a great transkit, I have built and finished one, and started a second.... It looks to me you have made a mistake in the positioning of the front axle. With the FLD chassis, remove the 'blue' extensions and measure 36mm from front of chassis to the centre of the steer axle, (or 40mm with the supplied bumper mounts installed). Kelvin
jacobus Posted March 24, 2013 Author Posted March 24, 2013 thanks for the tip have already take it of after the picture was taken the size is in his instructions , but this is better to see thanks kelvin jacobus
Goldminer Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 No problem jacobus, just trying to help. Another tip - You may notice I have assembled the steering tie-rod to the front of the axle, depending on what engine you use it may foul on the oil sump, If you intend to display with the cab tilted, no engine parts can sit more than 20mm above the top chassis rail before hitting on the cab floor. Kelvin
BigBad Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 So Jacobus, you're making progress on this, nice! This is going to look good in that shade of blue. If I may make a suggestion for the interior, I would go with a primer grey. I'm sure it's going to be a nice looking replica.Kelvin, if you have other tips and tricks up your sleeve like you have shown for the Argosy please let us know! Thanks!
Kanedge Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Interesting build, haven't seen this conversion kit before.
Tony Bryan Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 No problem jacobus, just trying to help. Another tip - You may notice I have assembled the steering tie-rod to the front of the axle, depending on what engine you use it may foul on the oil sump, If you intend to display with the cab tilted, no engine parts can sit more than 20mm above the top chassis rail before hitting on the cab floor. Kelvin Come on Kelvin post yours, it is spectacular
