Ps if this is in the wrong place could the powers that be move it for me Thanks Edited March 27, 2013 by Doobie
Porscheman Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 This mine, I built it a couple of years ago. The only things I did to mine was to upgrade the tires to the new AMT parts pack whitewall set and add a blue tint to the windshield. Nice older kit.Al
Monty Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 I'm convinced that the two halves of the engine block/tranny were designed by different people. I spent a lot of time with my files trying to get them to even line up correctly. This kit doesn't offer much in the way of detail, so you'll have to do like Al did (above post) and make the most of what's there.
Antikainen Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Here´s mine: Chopped top from amt 67 Fairlane, scrathcbuild A- pillars, amt Edsel tyres.
72 Charger Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Wow Jarkko thats wild that roof really changes the car for the better where did the electric guitare come from?
Antikainen Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Thanks David! Guitar came from Revell Dodge Magnum kit.
72 Charger Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Al thats nice did you use tamiya clear blue for the screen?
Porscheman Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 (edited) David, I always use one light pass of Tamiya Clear Blue on all my windows. I thinks it give the models that little extra.Al Edited March 28, 2013 by Porscheman

Porscheman Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Tulio thats very nice is it metalic black or is it dust ?.I think that I will have to do somthing with the headlights I dont like the the molded in lenses !For the headlights that are molded in, I put a drop of Elmers glue or any white glue on each light and let it dry. It makes a nice lense look when it dries.

The color is dark blue metallic. It's a match for two original Ford colors, Nocturne Caspian Blue and Classic Blue
Chuck Most Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 There isn't anything fundamentally wrong with the interior- it just lacks some of the finer details newer kits might have. It's still pretty workable with a bit of detail painting.
72 Charger Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Thanks for clarifying that about the interior Chuck from what I can see It looks fairly good . Ive been googleing it and Ive found some good pics . I just have to build it now ha ha
southpier Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 didn't that kit have the bar for the back seat, maybe a telephone or reel to reel tape recorder, and the little flags for the front fenders?
realgone58 Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 (edited) The color is dark blue metallic. It's a match for two original Ford colors, Nocturne Caspian Blue and Classic Blue Tulio, where did you source the paint? I'd like to spray mint Nocturne as well. Edited March 29, 2013 by realgone58
Monty Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 (edited) I prefer replica stock builds the majority of the time, but I keep hoping Steve Millberry will see this and pop in. If memory serves, he's got one or two old Lincolns of this vintage (+/- a year or so) and they may give you some ideas for creating a very tasteful custom, if you decide to go that way. CrazyGirl Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 very very very cool , and now i gotta get one !!!!
zenrat Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Nice builds guys. I used the wagon roof (which brings a whole heap of new issues), the custom front end added AMT baby moons & some ICE. Sun visor hides the shonky roof/screen join.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Tulio, where did you source the paint? I'd like to spray mint Nocturne as well. I used automotive paint, mixed at a auto paint store. When I built this one I still used spray can clear, the most part from Tamiya, but the best result come with the use of automotive two part clear as well.
THarrison351 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 (edited) Built in the early nineties without the internet for reference. I don't remember it being difficult. Also, one of the first cars I foiled. Edited March 30, 2013 by THarrison351

THarrison351 Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Tim thats a nice red that you used can you remember what its called? Sorry Dave, it's been 20+ years and I can't remember. I know I was starting to use automotive paints, so it might be anything.
72 Charger Posted April 1, 2013 Author Posted April 1, 2013 Sorry Dave, it's been 20+ years and I can't remember. I know I was starting to use automotive paints, so it might be anything. Ok thanks tim I think I may try to find a colour thats close to yours It looks real nice

I loved it!! You won't believe, but the color looks close to the factory Fiesta Rangoon Red, a original '65 Lincoln color.
