Ant Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 (edited) Hi everyone, my name is Ant and I'm from England. I'm in my late 30s and have messed around with models for years but I'm pretty sure I've never really finished one. I bought a bunch of kits about 10 years ago and none got done because I started modifying everything rather than just building the thing as per the instructions. Anyway I'm going to finish this and reverse the trend. Monogram 1965 Impala SS. Spent a couple of evenings on the engine. I mixed red and orange together to try and match the pictures I saw on the internet. Since the picture was taken I have added the fan, belts, pumps etc. Got rid of that bump on the oil filter, put a bit of weathering on the motor and repainted the gearbox (the steel metalcote I had used started to rub off on my fingers). Modlbldr Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 (edited) Ant Welcome to the forum! Looks good so far. You are off to a good start. I completely understand about not finishing a build due to customizing. I have builds still in progress that I started almost 25 years ago! It can be a bad habit but it's hard not to get excited about starting a new build when an idea hits. That 65 Impala is a favorite of mine. I'll keep an eye on your build.
