Who has found the black that is PURE black, no tinge of brown, gray or reds????

I mean mile-deep, pitch black. No pearl or metallic, in either model or general paint (Duplicolor, Krylon, etc). Doesn't matter lacquer or not.

What is it?

Do you need a gloss, semigloss, matte or flat black?

I'd like which ever is blackest and can clear or polish as desired. Ultimate goal is wet-look deepest black.

A friend of mine (member purepmd on this board) built a model of this funny car using Tamiya acrylics. He says Tamiya X1 acrylic black is the deepest black he's used.

I laughed when I saw where you wanted to get away from black paint with a tinge of brown. That had to be a Testors reference.

I've looked into Wicked Colors Jet Black suggested by The Chief and like it. I'm recovering from eye surgery so progress is slow. Starting the model is still months away and I'm just gathering info and materials slowly.

Yep, that's the stuff, It's Urethane just like most automotive paints. I'm not sure on the thinner ratios though since I got it in a pre thinned paint kit.

Go to an auto paint store and ask for a PPG black that they mix and tell them not to mix anything with it -- just tell them you want the pure black. That would be the blackest I know of. I sell this pure black, but since you're on the east coast, it would probably cost a ridiculous amount to ship a 1 oz. bottle to you.

I'd go with Chris Rock.

YIKES! Glad I didn't say that.

BTW Dirty Harry-I'm asking this because I'm not too lazy to paint the black on MY Pocher...
