lanesteele240 Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Ok, here she is. This the first rig i have build since that Davie Allison set up a long long time ago. I am just in the reaserch phase on this one and i have already hit a road block. photos of the trailer are top secret. Kelly johnson would have loved to have some of the secrecy this thing has. Do you know of where i can find some pics of the trailer? Or a finished model? I think the rig should be straight forward. I can just get some generic pics of a Iveco Anybody put this one together? Know of any pitfalls? Any help would be much appreciated.
kilrathy10 Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 (edited) I built this one about 10 years ago...I found no real problems with it...You'll have a pretty good time of it....Italeri makes some really good race trailers..Although, if you're trying to do an interior, you just may want to wing it....I only built it box stock....The truck ain't too bad, either...I kind of wished I had a Man TGA or something else pulling it, but it cam out pretty good....I had that model for quite some time, until it got knocked off the shelf....I still have the trailer...Painted it black.....I never repaired the truck.... Either way....Have fun... Edited April 13, 2013 by kilrathy10
IMSANUT Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Looks cool. Wish I could help with pictures, but no such luck. I sure do wish some company would see fit to do an accurate US style race car transporter. I'd love to try to replicate the Penske Indy car trailers op mid 80's early 90's. Good luck with the project.

I do not have any info about these trailers but would have a go if I had. With CNC milling it would not be that difficult I think.
