Removing tampo graphics

I have a hard plastic slot car body and I'd like to remove the tampo graphics (numbers, stripes, etc.) without damaging the plastic finish. Does anyone know what the best method may be? Thanks.

you might try some castrol super clean on a rag. seems to me i removed some tampo printing with it one time. or if you just want the plastic finish, dunk the body in a bowl of super clean for an hour or so.

next i would try laquer thinner on a rag. that shouldnt hurt the plastic and ought to burn those suckers right off there!

I'm not sure what the 'plastic finish' is that cobra's looking to preserve - paint, molded-in color, etc....but I've had great results with a paper towel dampened with nail polish remover to get tampo graphics off diecasts.

I have customized many diecast cars and found that nail polish remover works great for removing the tampo graphics. I dont think it would effect the plastic on a slot car body, but I would try it on a scrap piece first just to be sure,

I have removed the tampo prints from numerous Hot Whells with car wax. It is slightly abrasive. Just rub on a little and polish until gone.
