tyrone Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 thanks fellas... I've polished the body, added bmf, and I used an extra set of wipers I had from one of the r/m Nova kits... the front grille and the rear tailight bezels came off a die cast car.... should have this one finshed tomorrow... thanks for looking and comments welcome....
tyrone Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 So what color did you use for the master? John Pol Sorry John.... I used model master Italian Red....
freakshow12 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 That is just great! Could you tell me the die cast source for the grille and taillights?
tyrone Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 That is just great! Could you tell me the die cast source for the grille and taillights? The die cast cars are from here.... http://www.maisto.com/
tyrone Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 Thanks Eric... Well this one is pretty much done... still need to add the sidemarker lenses, and the rear back up lights, and front park lights... I added side door handles from the r/m 69 convt. camaro... I've got the headliner painted, rear view, and side mirror added also... I repainted the spokes on the wheels too.. the aluminum was too bright to me... I used model master titanium paint for air brushes, I applied it with a fine tip brush.... thanks for looking and comments welcome...
PowerPlant Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 (edited) This one's coming together very nicely! Great wheels, and I really like the enginebay detail... Edited May 19, 2013 by PowerPlant
mikemodeler Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Great job on this one Tyrone! Well detailed and very clean, like all of your other builds!
azers Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 How much work did it take to get the diecast grill and tailights to fit the amt body. All the maisto diecast camaros i find are 1/24. And the amt kit is 1/25. Hope you don't mind the questions as i am really interested in your build which looks fantastic by the way.
Custom Mike Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 (edited) Tyrone, this is hands-down the best looking AMT '68 I've ever seen, great work! And painting the spokesa a darker color really was the best idea you could have had, they look much better now! Edited March 2, 2014 by Custom Mike
LoudFordPypes Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Very clean and detailed build. My favorite year Camaro an my personal favorite with the hidden headlights
1 bad55 stan Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Very nice build, the engine detail is perfect,The whole build is great.Top job.
dragcarz Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 If I mail you my motors, will you wire them for me. Mine never look that good.
tyrone Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Thanks alot fellas for the kind words... I really appreciate it..this was a fun build to do... I've always liked the detail of the r/m chassis over the amt chassis.... combining that chassis and firewall with the amt body makes for a good looking model... there were minimal adjustments to get it all to work out... the rally sport grille is one of the baddest imop.. I have plans to do a 69 rally sport to accompany this one......thanks again fellas....
mikemopar70 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I just ain't get tired looking your Camaro! Very nice work, an outstanding looking muscle-car. Just the way i would have built it!! Congratulations!!
