twopaws Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I have completed my due diligence by checking prices and reading the reviews on Don Wheeler's site. That being said I would like to have comments from any and all board members familiar with this product. Thanks to all who reply.
W-Machine Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 You will likely enjoy using it, as I have found Paasche airbrushes to be nice, high quality pieces of machinery.
2002p51 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 I'm going to play Devil's Advocate here and recommend against the Paasche. I used a simple Badger 150 for many, many years and when it finally wore out I followed the "party line" and "upgraded" to a Paasche. I had a real love hate relationship with it, well no, it was purely a hate relationship. Maybe it was me but I never could get used to that &^%$&^ thing and I screwed up more paint jobs and had more problems with it than I like to think about. It was very fussy about the paint being precisely thinned and other problems. It was just very temperamental. A couple of years ago I finally got fed up enough and bought another Badger 150 and I've been happy again. I know I'm probably the lone voice in the wilderness but I will never buy another Paasche. Just sayin'
CadillacPat Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 I have a Talon, It's okay. The Talon is notorious for coming with a scratchy trigger pull so the opening in the body must be filed smooth. It's not an expensive gun so if you purchase it get all 3 sizes of tip, needle and head. The Paasche Talon is light years ahead of their Paasche H. But in line with the Talon, Try the Badger 155 Anthem or Badger 100LG, or an Iwata HP. CadillacPat
58 Impala Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 (edited) I have a Paasche H I bought after years of using a Badger 200, I like them both. The badger shoots great and is extremely reliable. I bought the Paasche H because I wanted a single action external feed which is easier to clean and it came with 3 sized tips. I also wanted the ability of using a tip with a wider pattern for painting larger areas like bodies. Edited April 27, 2013 by 58 Impala
Monty Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 I'm going to agree with Pat on this. I have a Paasche VL and a Badger Crescendo and they both spray nicely, but if I ever find employment again, I'm going to grab that 155. Its unique one needle system gives you the ability to spray virtually any kind of paint as well as allowing you to to go from very narrow (detail shading) to very wide (car bodies etc) without having to change needles & heads.
