I've had this one sitting in the box for a few months, it had a purpose but it's just now coming to the fore. I needed a truck to pull the trailer I bought for the 66 Chevy build. Being that it's an F 150 Lightning I chose to paint the body as such. It took a little doing but nothing major.

I first primed the body and sanded out or puttied out some imperfections that showed. Next I gave it a silver base to use for the metalic blue. I let it sit for 48 hrs before handeling it. I used some Parma Paint mask that are for 1/10 clear lexan bodies. I've used them before on one of those for my 1/10 drifter and remembered there were some very small ones that I thought would look the part on the body. After they were set and the edges burnished down I rattle canned Testor one coat metalic black, before the paint had completely cured I carefully pulled the mask.

Next I'll start working on the motor and interior. I'm trying to decide between the stock supercharged engine, or my Ross Gibson Ford Sidewinder with NOS bottles in the bed......TBD.

Thought I'd share some of the recent progress on the truck and the trailer I putting behind it. I got the chassis built up, motor built as well as the trailer painted to match and mostly built. This is the project I'm building to display with the 66 Impala I'm planning to put into a show next month.

Trailer wall...painted to match. I started off with Alclad for the chrome trim but it came out a little dark against the particular black so I went with foil instead. You can see the difference around the side door.ModelCarBuilds005_zps34ae19f2.jpg

Front interior wall. I used decal from the mural sets I ordered from Franklin Ink.

I didn't fill the injector marks on the wall as the trailer is just a quicky build to hold the show piece in and once the top is on the spots won't be overly noticeable.
