Ken Gilkeson Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 a personal favorite, so well done and not over done
Ack! Ack-ack! Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Jürgen, thanks for the great explanation. Your technique doesn't seem to be too difficult provided that one has the required tools. But this is the problem, unfortunately I don't have a XY-table and I am afraid it would be way too expensive for me. Do you see any chance to cope without it?
Plastheniker Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 Dan, Ken, thanks for your replies! Jürgen, thanks for the great explanation. Your technique doesn't seem to be too difficult provided that one has the required tools. But this is the problem, unfortunately I don't have a XY-table and I am afraid it would be way too expensive for me. Do you see any chance to cope without it? I am afraid there is no alternative. For a nice resultall grille bars must be absolutely parallelthe distances between all grille bars must be identicalhorizontal and vertical grille bars must form exact 90° anglesyou have to mill/cut vertical 0.5mm slots into the grill frame and into the horizontal 0.5mm grille barsIMO this cannot be achieved manually. Mostly X-Y-tables like mine are used by hobby woodworkers. Maybe you know someone ? If this is not the case and the grille is the only remaining obstacle it would be no problem to mill the grooves for you if you send me the baseplate/grille frame assembly.
Ack! Ack-ack! Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Jürgen, thanks a lot. Once again I appreciate your helpfulness.Would you mind sending me your German e-mail address by pm?Discussing questions not of general interest directly would be less inconvenient than posting them via USA in the MCM Forum.

1959scudetto Posted September 23, 2020 Posted September 23, 2020 Excellent truck/trailer combo Jürgen - as always! Also your awesome photography! I don't know why I have not commented on this one years ago - I always thought that it looked great !
Ack! Ack-ack! Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 I saw your model first maybe 10 years ago on the Wettringer Forum (when it was Europe's largest forum, now it is stonedead). This is still one of the most perfect truck models on the web!
Plastheniker Posted October 3, 2020 Author Posted October 3, 2020 Thanks for the latest replies! I am pleased with any comment but particularly when my older builds are concerned.
