MikeMc Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 I noted that thera are 2 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti kits shown by revell. 1 is from germany the other USA with different prices and decal choices any other differences to note or worry about??
Exotics_Builder Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 The Revell USA is a repackaged Revell AG kit and is cheaper. Either way, it's a great kit.
Zoom Zoom Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I don't think there's much difference at all; though if you get a Revell USA Superamerica you're getting a better kit than the Revell AG version simply because it's molded in white and not the weird combo of red with some gray panels...makes no sense at all why they did that. I suspect the Revell USA Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano will also be molded in white, so it may be a better choice as well vs. the red of the Revell AG variation.

I thought the Superamerica is a 550/575 based car not the 612.
Zoom Zoom Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I thought the Superamerica is a 550/575 based car not the 612. That is correct; I was giving an example of how Revell changes a Revell AG kit to Revell USA kit; the Revell AG Superamerica was molded in a very odd combination of red and gray (red body, but some parts were gray like the hood, mirrors...very dumb IMHO), and the US version is molded all in pure white. To me that makes it better, regardless of price. The Revell AG Ferrari 599 is molded in red/gray and will likely also be pure white when reboxed for US consumption.

Ok thanks, I wasn't nuts (no comments please LOL) as I was thinking of kitbashing a SuperAmerica with a Fujimi 575M to have it with engine detail!

Revell USA will repackage the Revell of Germany 599 and release it in 2008. I don't yet know a release date as the person I talked to at Revell didn't know.
